2018 The Interaction of Infants with The Television, Smart Phone and Tablet Computers

The present study aimed to investigate the interaction of infants, who are emphasized to refrain from the use of technological materials, with the technology. In the study, the views of the parents on the significance of the television, phone and tablet computers in infant’s life, the conditions under which the infants interact with these communication technologies and their behavior during these interactions were investigated. The study group included 14 infants and their mothers reached using convenience sampling method. In the present qualitative study, data were collected with a semi-structured interview and video recording methods. Thus, it was determined that the interaction between the infants and the television started on the 5th month. It was observed that the infants interacted with their smart phones and tablet computers daily and their mothers utilized interesting features of technological instruments to attract the attention of infants, especially during feeding, and to amuse the infants while they were busy with another task. It was concluded that mothers did not have adequate knowledge on the advantages and disadvantages of technological material for the infant. It was determined that infants demonstrated great interest in technological material due to the influence of their visual and auditory attractiveness, they particularly perceived smart phones as a toy and mimic adults in using smart phones.

2018 Geçmişten Günümüze Varlığını Sürdüren Çocuk Oyunlarının Çocukların Gelişimi ve Değer Kazanımına Katkıları

Bu çalışmada. geleneksel çocuk oyunlarının çocukların gelişimlerine ve değer kazanımlarına katkısı olup olmadığı ve ne tür bir katkısı olduğunu belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma desenindeki çalışmada doküman inceleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda, öncelikle alan yazında ele alınan oyun sınıflamasına göre oyunlar belirlenmiştir. Oyunların çocuklara yönelik gelişimsel katkıları ve desteklediği değerler sayısal olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada, geleneksel çocuk oyunlarının çocukların başta motor gelişim ve sosyalduygusal gelişim olmak üzere diğer gelişim alanlarına olumlu katkıları olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca oyunların, çocukların başta sevgi/saygı, arkadaşlık, özdenetim ve işbirliği değeri olmak üzere farklı değerlerin kazanımında etkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çocukların geleneksel oyunlar sayesinde gelişimlerinin ve değer kazanımlarının olumlu yönde etkileneceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

2018 İlkokul Öğrencilerinde Mükemmelliyetçilik ve Problem Çözme Becerileri

Bu çalışmada, mükemmeliyetçilik ve problem çözme arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olup olmadığını incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Betimsel tarama modelindeki çalışmada, ilkokul 3.ve 4.sınıfa devam eden 97 kız ve 88 erkek olmak üzere 185 öğrenci çalışma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında Mükemmelliyetçi Öz-Sunum Ölçeği ile Problem Çözme Becerileri Ölçeği (7-11 yaş) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Mann Whitney U-testi kullanılmış, ölçek puanları arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesinde korelasyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmada öğrencilerin mükemmelliyetçilik ve problem çözme becerilerinin cinsiyet değişkeninden etkilenmediği belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin yaşı arttıkça problem çözme becerilerinin de arttığı belirlenmiştir.. Öğrencilerin Mükkemmelliyetçi Öz-Sunum Ölçeği ile Problem Çözme Becerileri Ölçeği toplam puanları arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur.

2018 Perfectionism and Problem-Solving Skills in Primary School Children

The present study aimed to investigate whether there was a significant correlation between perfectionism and problem-solving. In the study that was conducted with the descriptive survey model, the study group included 185 3rd and 4th grade primary school students (97 girls and 88 boys). The Perfectionist Self-Presentation Scale and the Problem-Solving Skills Scale (7-11 years) were used to collect the study data. Data analysis was conducted with Mann Whitney U-test and correlation analysis was used to determine the correlations between scale scores. In the study, it was determined that the students’ perfectionism and problem-solving were not affected by the gender variable. It was found that they made was higher when compared to the older students and as the students got older, their problem-solving skills improved as well. There was a negative correlation between the Perfectionist Self-Presentation Scale and Problem-Solving Skills Scale scores.

2018 The Contribution of Children’s Games That Were Available Since Early Times to Child Development and Value Acquisition of Children

The present study aimed to determine whether conventional child games contribute to child development and value acquisition and the types of contributions they provide. The present qualitative study was conducted with the document review method. Based on the study objective, the games were initially identified based on the game classifications discussed in the literature. The contributions of the games to child development and the values they supported were determined numerically. In the study, it was determined that conventional child games positively contributed to child development areas, especially motor development and social-emotional development. Furthermore, it was determined that games play a role in the acquisition of different values, particularly love / respect, friendship, self-control and cooperation values. It was concluded that child development and value acquisition would be positively affected by conventional games.
